  • Got multiple spreadsheets, databases, documents and drawings?

  • Want to drawings and data together, give better understanding and still add more information?

  • Existing tools not giving you the flexibility to make use of your data or to represent it in a way to help people understand?

  • Want to be able to publish co-ordinated views and data on the Web?

Then netViz is for you !

netViz Product Overview

netViz is a unique information-management tool that allows you to visualize and work with all types of complex data systems. Designed to deal easily with large amounts of information, netViz seamlessly integrates graphics and data to create a "visual database," making it easy for you to see system components, their unique characteristics, and the nature of their relationships to each other.

As you build diagrams, netViz transparently stores information about the objects and the connections between them.

netViz then uses that data to display hierarchical diagrams, generate tables, perform searches, and track all of the horizontal and vertical associations between objects.

We don't just create drawings; we allow you to explore complex data structures in whatever form suits you.

Users around the globe have found netViz to be a great tool for

  • WAN/LAN Documentation

  • Application documentation

  • Telco Circuit Mapping

  • Workflow/Process Modeling

  • Conceptual Design Modeling

  • Database Visualization

Features

  • True multi leveled linked documentation.

  • Link data from ODBC sources.

  • Drive the object visual display from the data.

  • Create icons and links from external data.

  • Alias objects in different views but only manage the data once.

  • Generate Web diagrams with data or multi-leveled PowerPoint slides.

  • With netViz 3D, create 3D scenes and Web VRML 3D views.

  • Many thousands of vendor specific icons included.

Documentation Services

How are the Services  performed

To effectively control documentation in a distributed IT environment, you need to assess skills, resources, processes, sources of information and how information is accessed. In discussion with yourselves, we will scope the work and agree responsibilities for standards, data capture, formatting, etc. The deliverables are normally an electronic version of the documentation with written procedures.

Aims of Services

  • To make clear the configuration and structure of networks, systems and applications.

  • To add automations into the documentation process.

  • To provide a ‘Network Discovery’ service

Main points of Services

  • Structured approach to control of documentation in distributed networks

  • Effective visualization and coordination of diverse information

  • Scope can cover partial or complete responsibility for delivery and production of documentation, including physical and logical diagrams and configuration databases

  • Documentation can cover network, backbone and floor cabling, systems architecture, batch processes, software development, applications architecture, service level references depending on scope

  • Production of data and formatting standards for change management processes

  • Integration and re-formatting of existing data to reduce timescales & costs.

  • Add automations into data entry to aid the update process and save time.

  • Network Discovery’ service available to find the current topology

  • Use of the best network visualization and documentation tool available

Benefits of Services

  • Easier to maintain and improve network service as change is often the biggest source of disruption

  • Fault finding time is reduced

  • Planning changes is quicker

  • Fewer misunderstandings that result in service disruption

  • With automations, updating documentation is easier and quicker

  • Availability of information even when staff are on holiday or leave.

  • Allows disaster recovery processes to be planned.

  • Costing upgrades or changes is more accurate.

  • Responsibilities and service impact are better understood.

  • Less time spent learning the state of systems each time.

Options:

GENESIS COMMUNICATION can perform data capture, whether manual or automated, single or multiple sites. Documentation can be designed specifically for WEB browser and published to internal WEB Servers. Where change control is difficult to implement, it may be worth considering a regular audit and documentation update service to ensure accuracy and consistency is maintained.

NEW TRAINING OFFERING: Network Management Technology

GENESIS COMMUNICATION is providing a new Technology Training: Network Management Technology.

The goal of this training is to understand the basic function of Network Management Technology and the measurement of network and application performance. The IT-Infrastructure gets more complex daily leading to a dramatic increase in the effort to debug it. Insufficient bandwidth is one issue. Network Latency is just as important. The results are intolerable application response time. With suitable measuring methods the issues can be found proactively, saving time, effort and money.

The training will cover the following topics:

  • Different types of Network Management Systems

  • Basic function of SNMP

  • Distinction of SNMP v1, v2 and v3

  • MIBs and its Information

  • Comparison of Polling and Traps

  • RMON I and II with its twenty groups

  • Relationship between Latency and Throughput

  • Interpretation and measurement of the network latency

  • Interpretation and measurement of application response time

  • Measurement of multi tier applications and the optimization of network and application
